I will literally purchase anything with the scent of Lush Cosmetics Comforter which of course, meant that when the Comfort Zone Shower Bomb popped up I ran to grab one up! I had all these proper plans to review only to realize I used it completely wrong. How do you use the Lush Comfort Zone Shower Bomb? Well, before I explain how to use it I should first explain how not to use it as you don’t want to make the same mistake I did and use it wrong.
One of my guilty pleasures is Anihana Shower Steamers! I love them! Are they wasteful? Some people might think so but I’m all about self-care and a little time to spoil yourself and if that means popping a little sodium bicarbonate into my shower to steam up and fragrance the air as I shower so be it. I know Lush has Shower Steams as well and I have tried them in the past and quite like them but they are $4.50 each and the ones from Anihana are a touch bigger and cheaper at $3.49.
When Lush Comfort Zone Shower Bomb dropped I immediately purchased three as I’m in love with the scent of the Comforter. The Comforter has notes of sweet blackcurrant but to me it smells like one of my favorite childhood scents and that would be a Hello Kitty Eraser. If you know, you know. Back in the day my mom would always bring me to the Sanrio store before back to school and I’d get to pick out a few stationary items that I’d never used during the school year but would just keep around, look at, pet, smell, and be in awe of how cute and pretty the items were. My favorite items were always the erasers. I loved the erasers! They’d always come in some special plastic container and they’d be incredibly fancy (I mean, I was like 8 so it was fancy to me!). The scent of the Comforter reminds me of those erasers.
Anyway, now that we had our little blast from the past Sanrio moment let’s talk about how I stupidly used this. For some reason I thought the Comfort Zone Shower Bomb was a shower steamer of sorts. Basically, to use a shower steamer you hope in the shower, turn the spray on, and back the steam on the floor. As you shower the water hits the steamer and it melts down and you’ll have an aromatherapy spa-like moment as it releases fragrance in the air. It never touches your body. It just sits happily on the floor melting away as you take a shower. That was in fact how I THOUGHT the Comfort Zone was supposed to be used. The first time I used it I got into the shower, popped it on the floor, and got all grumpy about how it was making a mess. It was turning my beautiful tile floor pink not to mention it didn’t smell. My feelings were hurt after that shower. I expected so much more.
Well, needless to say I found out after that shower I used the Comfort Zone completely wrong. Duh! Turns out this isn’t a steamer! If you’ve ever used Lush Bath Bombs you know they fizz up in your bath. Well, Shower Bombs sort of work the same way. Once they hit water in your shower they fizz up and get a bit creamy! So, what do you do with a Shower Bomb? Use it on your body! Yes, you can use it like a body wash! Bring it in the shower with you, hit the water, watch it fizz in your hand! As it fizzes it creates tons of creamy lather which you can use all over your body. I can’t believe I was using it completely wrong. The scent was so much stronger like this and as with all Lush it lingered nicely on my skin. It rinses clean away and one bomb will last your entire shower and create quite a bit of creamy lather (I even had enough to shave with!). It is a bright pink so expect a little bit of a mess you’ll have to wash away later. It rinses clean off my skin and left it lightly hydrated!
My stupid mistake was wasting my first bomb but my second time around was chef’s kiss! This was fun! It’s also, a nice experience if you happen to be someone that doesn’t have a bathtub and can’t enjoy a bath bomb in the traditional sense. This is a fun alternative to that! All in all, Lush Comfort Zone Shower Bomb was a fun experience that I’ll totally do again!
Lush Shower Bombs are available in a few different scents and $4.50-$5.50 which is a bit expensive but they are long lasting through the entire shower and you can’t put a price on spoiling yourself once and a while.
