Katherine and Charlie were the runners-up of Too Hot to Handle season 6 and, by some fans’ accounts, were an unlikely couple because of their age difference—she’s 28 and he’s 21, and your twenties are a formative time in figuring out who you are and what you want in a partner.

“He is immature though and it shows the age gap so she’d prob do better to find someone a bit older and more mature,” wrote one fan on Reddit, to which another replied, “Except for Demari who’s 27, all the remaining guys are between 19-23 so frankly she just has no better option. If she didn’t connect with any of them she’d be kicked off the show,” they joked. Turns out, the joke’s on the fans.
Are Katherine and Charlie still together?
They sure are. “Everything Charlie and I have gone through to get to this point… this is an amazing night, there’s fireworks, I’m with Charlie, I’m just the happiest girl in the world,” Katherine gushed in the season finale.
During their finale date, they discussed what their relationship would look like outside of the villa because of their locations—Charlie is based in the UK, in Los Angeles. “Being loyal is going to be harder when we’re in different countries,” Charlie said. Katherine responded, “If he can’t trust himself, how can I trust him? What’s going to happen to us?”
Charlie explained how his attitude towards relationships had changed since being on the show. “I’ve learned a lot about the way that I respect women and want to treat women,” he said. “And I want to treat you right. I want to be honest because it makes me feel good when I’m being truthful to you. I don’t want to ever have to lie to you again. And even though we live far away, I really want to make it work with you.”
When they met up for the first time outside of the house, it ended up being fine. “It’s like, ‘Okay, is this actually going to work?’ But then, I realized, ‘Oh, yeah. No, I love this man. I want to make it work,’” Katherine told People.
“I really wanted to make sure that whilst I was in there, I didn’t rush anything or make anything happen too quickly. And I think that is one reason why we have been so solid together,” Charlie said. “Because I didn’t want to ask her to be my girlfriend on the show or tell her I loved her on the show, even though I kind of knew it and felt it. I wanted to give us a chance on the outside.”
